Employability

At The Meadows, Employability supports students to understand their own skills, qualities and interests related to their employability and being able to make informed choices and decisions about their own future as well as an understanding of the world of world and what it means to be employable in different contexts. This connects with our CEIAG programme and supports students from year 7 onwards.

ASDAN COPE requires students to achieve 12 credits, which can be made up from 36 available options, depending on student interest and skill development. 6 Credits are gained in year 10 through Youth Achievement and the additional 6 are gained throughout KS4 with pupils engaging in Work Related Learning, Citizenship and Community, Independent Living, Health and Fitness and International Links. All of these are planned based on student needs so that individuals are able to have a personalised curriculum.

NCFE Health and Safety is linked to students WRL opportunities or supports students who are work shadowing and have the opportunity to apply health and safety rules and responsibilities in context.
